Min Qualifications

Doctoral degree in medicine or biomedical science and experience in delivery of continuing education.

Job Description:

Responsible for leadership and oversight of continuing medical education activities sponsored by UTMB. Continuing education activities include assuring compliance with accreditation requirements, conflicts of interest rules, and applicable law, and maintaining UTMB's institutional accreditation for CME via the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

Salary Range

Commensurate with experience

Specific Job Related Duties

Implement the ACCME elements or standards
Submit a Self-Study as required
Submit an annual report, overseeing all activities sponsored by the OCE to ensure compliance and regulations are upheld
Progress reports for upcoming accreditation visit
Assuring compliance with institutional and ACME rules and regulations
Contracts include catering,hotels and educational agreements from commercial sources
Staff Supervision, including direct supervision of the CME Director
Hiring, dismissals, performance evaluations, salaries, managing work flow in conjunction with the CME Director
Web Site: Monitors the data management programs, works with IT and IS at UTMB for support for this program, oversee site for integration into the institution credit card payment engine and makes sure the site is maintained securely.
Other (non-medical) Continuing Education Accreditations: Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
Direct budget responsibility.
Makes and oversees all decisions made regarding the OCE offices, UTMB and UT Houston.

Proficient use of personal computers and general office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook electronic mail
Supervisory/leadership skills
Strong project management skills across multiple customer groups
Ability to manage multiple complex projects and prioritize work

Preferred Education

Three years experience in organization of continuing education programs
