He or she is responsible for developing and overseeing service-oriented processes and a robust infrastructure in support of UTMB's rapidly-expanding graduate programs.  Working closely with the Deans of Medicine, Nursing, Health Professions, Vice President of Research and clinical and basic science departments, he or she is responsible for ensuring that a comprehensive graduate infrastructure exists. This infrastructure will strengthen and streamline all key functional areas that support school and departments enhancing UTMB's fourteen graduate programs while preserving financial integrity.  The Vice President and Dean, Graduate School and Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) develops and balances between client service via graduate program faculty members with high level of operational efficiency.<br/><br/><b>Salary Range</b><br/><br/>$250,000- Annually<br/><br/><b>Specific Job Related Duties</b><br/><br/>- Provides leadership and general oversight of all aspects of the Graduate School including: evaluation and enforcement of policies governing Graduate School structure, faculty appointments, graduate assistantships, policies and procedures, student admissions, degree requirements and thesis completion.<br/>- Responsible for working with the Deans of Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions to conduct periodic external reviews, including evaluations of individual degree programs.<br/>- Oversees student eligibility for completion of all graduate degree and non-degree programs. <b>Function: </b>Responsible for developing and implementing a broad fund-raising program
designed to secure major gifts from individuals, alumni, foundations and corporations. Will
establish and implement a strategic plan for their program area to identify, cultivate, solicit and
steward major donors.<br><br>

<b>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</b><br>
&bull; Responsible for raising major gifts (donations of $50,000 and above) through effective
identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts prospect and donors.<br>
&bull; Responsible for a minimum of 15 meaningful donor visits per month. Meaningful donor visits
are scheduled meetings about a prospect&#8217;s giving.<br>
&bull; Responsible for raising $3M a year through funded major gift solicitations.<br>
&bull; Responsible for making major gift asks totaling up to three times annual fundraising goal.<br>
&bull; Manages a portfolio of 125-200 prospective major gift donors. Develops written strategies
for lead prospects and ensures that all prospects in portfolio are engaged in a substantive

Analyzes and assesses present and future medical staff needs, trends, challenges, and opportunities related to the service line.<br/>- Follows up on specific questions or areas of interest and/or concern expressed by community physicians, administrators or other health care providers.<br/>- Participates in and/or facilitates problem resolution between UTMB providers and referring physicians. Contacts UTMB providers directly when a specific concern or problem is identified by a referring physician to verify the incident and develop an appropriate response to the situation.<br/>- Maintains an effective recording system to document calls, responses and activities.
